Ah, another fish person! I love my fish! Do you keep slatwater or fresh? How many do you keep? How many tanks, and how big? Are you nearly as obsessed with your fish as I am?

Welcome!

I have convicts, a common pleco (ugh, its going to take FOREVER to be able to afford thetank he needs), cories (a panda, a spotted, and an albino), a blue ram (will be getting more), a yoyo loach(he'll get a big tank and friends when I can afford that as well), a farlowella catfish, and a kuhli loach. Very soon I will be getting another blue ram and a school of cardinal tetras for my 29 gallon amazon biotype setup. Later, as soon as I can afford both those big tanks, I'll be gettign a trio of needlenose gars for a 90-115 gal(will be with the pleco), and a pair of discus for a 55 gal(with the yoyos). Yup, now THAT is an expensive hobby [Wink]

Welcome TommyJake, hope you enjoy the forum [Big Grin] .
A question for you and Elite, I have a tropical tank too, I just picked up a catfish that looks like a shark, with heaps of whiskas, any idea what it's called, everyone asks me but it's name went straight in one ear and out the other after I left the store.
I also have an orange angel fish, a guami, a black widow, and 2 siamese fighters, one white the other brown, (separated of course).

P.S. I would love a discus, but they are so expensive, and my record of dying fish is quite high!!!

I'm gonna guess that your cat is a pictus catfish, although there are a lot of catfishes. That's just, IMO, the most whiskery one that is easily found in petshops. I almost got one, but was told that they got to be rather large, and mean.

Or he could be a columbian shark...

Those are my only two real ideas...Howver, if he's not one of those 2, planetcatfish.com is a great place to figure it out. I spent much time there trying to convince myself that common pleco wasn't common, so I wouldn't have a 2-3 foot long fish...unfortunately, he is a common pleco, and needs a new tank (he's only a little over 6 inches right now)

And what's a black widow? I don't think I've ever heard of it [Smile]

Yep!! That's him, a Colombian Shark, he is sooo cool, I love watching him.
A black widow is smaller than the angel, round body, silver color, with a tail and fins that turn to black and fades out to silver, depending on what's happening in the tank.
I used to buy pairs of fish, but found they became more agressive to the others, so now I only get one. I had 2 clown loaches, but anything that was a bit sick in the tank copped it, plus my plants.
